It is turning out to be a wonderful weekend. The weather has been beautiful and sunny. A perfect day for all the dads everywhere to celebrate. I am blessed to be honored to have a great dad and husband who have filled my life with a lot of laughter. As they say laughter is the best medicine. It releases those good endorphins.
Every year that passes I have more wonderful memories to remember in honor of the great men in my life. Today I hope we make some more new ones.
When I reminisce of days gone by with my dad, I remember all the days he spent taking me to college and sitting in the lounge when I had pulled all night study sessions. He was afraid I would fall asleep driving, so he slept in the lounge while I went to class. I can still remember him falling asleep with his head tilted back and snoring in the lounge. It was embarrassing, but now it brings a lot of laughter. We appreciate those embarrassing moments when we become parents, as we realize how much they really loved us. You know it was love because who would be silly enough to snore and drool in front of college students. LOL! I love you Dad !!
My children have their own memories of their dad. My favorite memories of my husband are of how excited he was when they were born. Then as they started to grow up he was always there to cheer them on from the sidelines during all their sporting events. I love him for all the days he left work early to meet us at the park to watch them play ball, tennis, soccer, baton twirling, and their many other endeavors over the years. Those are the memories they will remember and the things that always bring a smile to my face. Now our kids are grown and I get the pleasure of hearing my husband say how proud he is to have two great kids. I owe it to him for being a great dad. I love you!!
Happy Father's Day to all the dads across the world. Also Happy Father's Day to my father-in-law in heaven. I miss all your jokes and I still tip the flower pot over just for you. And, yes people still holler out, "Your flower pot fell over." It makes me laugh every time.
Life is beautiful!!
Elizabeth
