I think I need to write about love. The world is changing so much and I think we are loosing that intimacy of person to person contact with social media. We are able to reconnect with people easier with social media, but I still believe that face to face is the the most human and honest way to express ourselves. Sometimes in the language of text messaging with someone the real meaning of our words are lost. People's mannerisms and tone of voice are not present with texting and interpretation can be obscured. I still like the old fashion telephone conversations, and tone of voice and what you really mean can be heard. I enjoy those telephone conversations with my dad, as he is not into modern social media. On the other side however it is nice to text or e-mail someone and let them know that you are thinking about them.
So, Summer 2016 is officially here and I am loving the stinking hot weather. I am a sunny summer person. On the subject of love and romance, I have fixed up my patio like a flower garden. My husband commented yesterday that he loves it. It is a relaxing place to lounge and forget your worries. We had the family over for Father's day and we enjoyed eating and lounging on the patio. Laney is even enjoying the patio.
I spent most of Father's day cooking for my two survivors, my dad and husband. I think they enjoyed it as much as I did. The world has forgotten the simple moments shared with family and the love that needs to be thought about everyday. We missed those in our family that left us way to early and we hope that they were smiling from heaven.
I remind myself these days of all the good that I can find in people and let the bad be buried. We can change the world with kind words and actions. We can turn off our phone and enjoy the people in front of us. We can laugh and be happy that we are alive and we are survivors.
Getting ready to share some more time today with my dad. Every minute with him is another good memory. He smiled yesterday as I handed him a hanging basket of flowers. He laughed because I reminded him he needed a basket to hang by his front door. I think there is nothing more loving and comforting than seeing flowers at someone's door.
I think I need more flowers and I am about to go get some. Love to all!!
Life is beautiful!!!!
Elizabeth:)
