Well, Laney is hiding today from a HVAC technician installing a new heating and cooling unit for us. The furnace decided to kick the bucket at the end of last winter. Burr!!! We put off getting a new one as long as possible, but the cold nights are creeping up on us quickly. Maybe I won't have to wear a hoodie around the house this winter. The last couple of winters have been brutal and the furnace just gave up. We gave up too when we got estimates on a new one. If not for worrying about freezing water pipes, I could have moved the electric heater from room to room. Okay, I am feeling very blessed to have this nice man putting in a new furnace. I'll have him send the bill to our government. No, on second thought I'll pay for it, because the government is in more debt than me.
The oven decided last night to kick the bucket too. It is done with this house and trying to leave with the old furnace. Anything that heats up needs to stay away from us. Do not enter or you shall blow a circuit and be done. I can't believe that the oven's control board went bad. The oven is fairly new and I don't use it often, as I cook a lot with the crock pot and microwave. The control board cost half of what a new range cost. I think I'll roast the turkey over an open fire this year or maybe the furnace can bake it. Maybe we will get take out for dinner.
Okay, enough whining as I remind myself that life could be a lot worse. I am still smiling and looking forward to a warm and cozy winter. A picture of Laney looking at my flowers is enough to make anybody smile.
