Bitter Cold

We tied a record for coldest day since 1963, as the temperature went to a minus 13.  The wind chills were recorded as minus 25.  As I peeped out from under the covers this morning, I saw the sun shinning brightly.  It was hard to get out from under the warm covers.  The high today reached a cold 5 degrees.  I felt sorry for my husband, as he took off in the frigid cold to work.  I think every school and university in the state was closed.  It was a day to stay inside if you did not have to go anywhere.

You can feel the cold in the house as we have been asked by the power company to conserve electricity.  We had a power surge last night and prayed we did not loose electric.  I think that this definitely will be a winter that will be talked about for a long time.  Hope wherever you are, you are safe and warm.

Laney and I will count down the days until we hear lawn mowers instead of snow plows.  I don't think I'll complain about mowing grass, as it will be nice to be outside.  Summer, summer come again and bring back some fun in the sun again.

Life is beautiful !!
