Laney passed away in Febuary of 2017. This blog and her legacy live on. She gave me courage to talk about how the medical field affected our family. She gave me a purpose to write. Forever she will be in my heart.

Mother's Day On The Road
I recently spent my Mother's Day in a car driving across the United States. I was once again traveling home after supporting my husband with health issues. His checkup was good and he continues to be in remission. So even though I was in the car, my Mother's Day was good! I had lots of time to reflect back about the wonderful times I spent with my children and the fact that I had been very blessed to be a mother. I recalled the weekends spent at baton twirling competitions with my daughter and watching her play tennis as if she were born with the racket in her hand. I thought about all the fun days watching my son play ball and the fact that his love of baseball gives me such joy. And then, I thought about Laney and the joy she has brought me now that my children are adults. I think I'm one lucky mom to have such wonderful memories. And now, I have new memories to add. As my trip ended and I pulled into the driveway, I was greeted by Laney and my front porch filled with with beautiful flowers from my beautiful children. Life is great!!!
