Laney passed away in Febuary of 2017. This blog and her legacy live on. She gave me courage to talk about how the medical field affected our family. She gave me a purpose to write. Forever she will be in my heart.

Sailing Away!
As I write today, Laney is once again resting comfortably on my lap. She seems to love the warmth of being close to me. I too love her keeping me warm as the cool days of fall are upon us. I love to travel in the beautiful fall and I recently listened to a song about sailing away as plastic bags do at times. Every once in a while a plastic bag will escape the garbage and sail through the air. I have wondered where it may sail to and have thought it would be fun to follow it. I not so sure Laney would follow me and the bag. She seems to have a fear of plastic bags, it is as if the bag is alive. I let Laney out in the yard one day and she did not return to the door. Sometime later I found her crouched in the corner of the yard shaking as a plastic bag whipped through the air around her head. I went to rescue her and grabbed the bag to show her that it was harmless. Unfortunately, she was not convinced. So much for sailing away with the bag, because without Laney the journey would not be any fun.
