Rainbows

I recently had the pleasure of seeing a double rainbow. The colors were very vibrant and I was wondering if Laney would be able to see the beauty of it. After some research I have discovered that dogs are only able to see two primary colors, blue and yellow. Also because they do not have as many cones in there eyes, the colors are not as vibrant. How I wished she could have experienced the beauty. I also had the pleasure of recently traveling through the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia and experiencing the beautiful fall foliage. It was a painted portrait of God's country. I would recommend a road trip through the mountains for everyone, including my four legged friend. What's a road trip without my Laney even if she can't see the red and oranges. Who knows maybe we'll sail away and find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, in the mountains of course.

Sailing Away!

As I write today, Laney is once again resting comfortably on my lap. She seems to love the warmth of being close to me. I too love her keeping me warm as the cool days of fall are upon us. I love to travel in the beautiful fall and I recently listened to a song about sailing away as plastic bags do at times. Every once in a while a plastic bag will escape the garbage and sail through the air. I have wondered where it may sail to and have thought it would be fun to follow it. I not so sure Laney would follow me and the bag. She seems to have a fear of plastic bags, it is as if the bag is alive. I let Laney out in the yard one day and she did not return to the door. Sometime later I found her crouched in the corner of the yard shaking as a plastic bag whipped through the air around her head. I went to rescue her and grabbed the bag to show her that it was harmless. Unfortunately, she was not convinced. So much for sailing away with the bag, because without Laney the journey would not be any fun.
