Good Bye Texas

A week of fun has come to an end in Texas.  It was a week of fun and medical check ups for my husband.  It ended with good news that he is still in remission and doing well.  We left Md Anderson Cancer Center with a smile on our face and to top it off we saw a rainbow.  We even heard the "Happy song, " as we drove away from the center.  My husband had a big smile on his face and I felt like someone had lifted away a ton of worry.  We will be smiling when we meet up with Laney again.  We missed her and we are glad to have a picture of her cute little face right here on the blog to view.

I have enjoyed visiting with family and of course we are very blessed to be able to stay with them while in Texas.  We also had the chance to visit with some friends that we knew when we lived in our apartment back in 2011.  The apartment building is being refurbished and is looking very nice.  We miss the city life, the beautiful flowers, and palm trees.

It is back home to regular life again as we know it.  We are looking forward to another Fourth of July with family and friends.  It is hard to believe the month of June is almost gone.  Slow down summer we are not looking forward to winter again.

The practice of gratitude and changing my thoughts to bring good things to life has worked.  God is great all the time.  I can feel new adventures starting to happen.  Loving you always and forever my husband !

Life is beautiful !!

Running On Empty

I remember a song from the past that was about running on empty.  I can't remember who sang it but, I can hear the lyrics in my head.  It reminded me of how I felt today.  Yesterday I over did myself as I decided to mow our yard in between rain storms.  If the grass had gotten any thicker and taller I may have lost Laney.  She would have been swallowed up by blades of grass. LOL.  I think I watered the grass even more as the sweat poured of me.  The humidity was 80 percent.  I finished the yard just in time before a big crack of thunder and then the rain came. There has been a lot of rain this week and flash flooding south of us.

My husband was so surprised as he pulled in from work to see the yard work was done.  I knew he was tired after a busy work week and the last thing on his mind was yard work.  He was impressed that I had mowed the whole yard, as it is rather large.  I was impressed too and I am very grateful for self propelled lawn mowers.  I told him next time it was his turn. I was perhaps a little dehydrated, but it was more enjoyable mowing the yard than shoveling snow at minus 20 degrees.  Yes, so happy that summer is here.

Today is officially summer and the clouds departed.  The sun came back to us with a beautiful blue sky and white fluffy clouds.  Yes flip flop weather is here.  I'll probably spend some more days running on empty, as I enjoy the days of summer.  Thank goodness for these beautiful days, nap time, and seeing that big smile on my husband's face as we enjoy summer.  I think I'll fill up on lemonade and kisses.

Life is beautiful!!
