My Eyes Are Blue

My social calendar has filled up quickly for the month of June.  I had written back in December of 2013 that I was going to get out and socialize more.  It is now six months later and the calendar is full of upcoming social events and fun.  We are now six months away from December once again.  I guess what you declare to do will come true when you start talking about it.  My friend told me at lunch to never stop dreaming.  It is scary when you talk about someone or something and there it is right before your eyes.  They call it karma, or is it coincidence.

I was at the book store today walking up and down the isles browsing.  I had no particular book on my mind, but some of the titles were making me think of how our life can change from day to day.  One of them was about blue eyes and the fact that your eye color doesn't change  My eyes are blue and sometimes hazel, depending on what I'm wearing.  Today they are blue, and as blue as the sky.  They will always be some shade of blue.  They don't change as our daily lives do.  They are always blue, unlike life which we can choose to be different everyday.

I thought about how wonderful it is to reinvent ourselves and leave the past behind.  Least we do not let the past define us and stop us from fulfilling dreams. The past can not change, but we can change today.

My blue eyes and I left the house in a hurry today.  The bed was unmade and for the first time in a long time I decided life was too short to care about a bed.  I was focused on meeting my husband for lunch and enjoying the gorgeous day before us.  So, as we crawl in bed tonight, it won't matter if the bed was made or that my eyes are blue.  What will matter is my husband will be beside me and we will have enjoyed another day together dreaming.  Sweet dreams and today will be gone and another new adventure will start.

For all the dreams I have with you my husband, they are worth sharing together.
Your eyes are blue too.  I Love YOU!!

Life is beautiful!!

Happy National Cancer Survivors Day

It is National Cancer Survivors  Day!  I hope wherever you are that it is a beautiful day for you as a cancer survivor or caregiver.  We are enjoying a beautiful day here.  God has graced us with sunshine and warm temperatures.  The weather has been beautiful all week and my husband and I have been busy celebrating life and having fun with friends.  We love summer and we are enjoying every minute of it.

My husband is a 17 year survivor now.  He was first diagnosed in 1997.  We together have survived a lot of emotional heartache.   We are proud to say that we have become stronger and we are finding our way back to living.  Our friends have commented that they can tell we have found joy in life again after struggling through treatments and many trips across the country to MD Anderson Cancer Center.  I pray everyday for all the people who have battled cancer.  Many blessings to all that are celebrating being a survivor.

My dear husband you are my hero.  I love you always and forever.   We together hope someday that there will be an end to cancer.  If you know someone that is a survivor give them a hug and their caregiver.  They need to know you love and care about them.  Those who have good support and people who care about them know that life is beautiful!
