Happy New Year 2019 !!

The year has flown by quickly and has ended on a soggy note. It has been  raining nonstop all day, but on the bright side it hit 60 degrees. I don't ever recall it being this warm on the last day of the year. We are having a mild start to winter despite many days of overcast and gloom.  Sunny days are welcomed any time. This was a strange year for the weather. Our winter never ended until May and we jumped overnight to hot humid days. It was not a good year for enjoying  the outdoors.  It has left a lot of people with seasonal depression including myself.  I am praying for an early spring and lots of flowers.

This year will be in my mind and heart as a turning point to a new chapter of life.  The miracle of babies has brought much happiness, love, and laughter to our family.  The grandchildren have been a healing grace for bringing a family back together.  They are the best gift ever.

Natural disasters will come and go and we loose people we love and it is all a part of life.  We hold on to good memories,  practice forgiveness,  and love is always there to remind us how wonderful life is.

The year was a lesson on what life is all about.  After seven funerals this year, I have been living each day making my own dreams come true.  There is no waiting until tomorrow as we realize that someday will be here sooner than we realize.  To my friends and family that we lost this year your memories fill our life with comfort.

Loosing one of my childhood friends way too soon has left such a void in my life story.  I think of her everyday and will always carry with me her smile, warm sense of humor, and love she had for her family and friends.  May she rest in peace and we will continue to reap the memories of her beautiful personality. 

Well the wind is gusting at 50 miles an hour and sending 2018 on its way.  My husband is asleep beside me on the couch.  I will wake him in time for 2019 and a kiss.  Look out world here we come.

Smiling At Heaven

There is nothing better than waking up to the smiling face of my grandson and even better when both of my grandsons are here smiling.  Being a grandma is wonderful and the best thing to make anyone smile. It is like a day of sunshine and beautiful flowers all the time. Being a grandparent can brighten up your life.  I know our parents are smiling from heaven and we are smiling back.  So glad my dad is here to enjoy his three new great grandchildren born this year and the rest of them that total six. Santa is going to be busy this year.

We missed the LLS Light The Night this year,  LLS was trumped by the birth of grandson number two who was two weeks late.  His presence reminded us that my husband's wish to be a survivor was fulfilled as his two grandsons have been a dream come true.  Life is the best gift of all.

It has been a year filled with heartache as we said goodbye to some friends and family members.  They are sadly missed and we will be sending smiles and prayers to heaven this holiday season.

The stockings are hung and the tree is decorated and I am feeling the spirit of the Christmas season.
We are grateful for life, love, and happiness. My Christmas list is short and simple.....may we all stop pointing out each others faults and start embracing what makes us each unique.  We each have the power to create a wonderful life. Merry Christmas to the world !
