Laws of Attraction vs Coincedence

I have read a lot about the laws of attraction and I see how they do shape our lives. I equate them to my jigsaw puzzle of life that I referred to in an earlier post. I attracted my husband and in turn have my beautiful children. And of course I attracted Laney because of my mother-in laws request for her son to have a dog. Laney has filled my void for unconditional love and has given me a reason for this blog.
My daughter used to ask me when she was a child why she met certain people or went certain places. I would tell her that there is always a reason and it may take a while to understand. Now I think of how she went to San Antonio long before me. It was meant to be. She then took me and I fell in love with the city. And, now I will walk in a half marathon in San Antonio to raise money for the LLS. I never thought I would walk in a marathon but, I am very excited. I think of how my husband's Lymphoma has created purpose in our life and has given us a goal to help someone else.
There are however a few pieces of my puzzle that may be coincidence or laws of attraction as some may argue. We are blessed to receive treatment at Md Anderson Cancer Center located on Holcombe Blvd. I remember checking this address several times because my grandfather's name was Holcombe. This is not a common name and I still sometimes stare at the street sign and even have taken pictures of it. It has made me really think about my life. Also I just recently noted that our doctor shares the same first name as my father. There are many coincidences in life or are they just meant to be.

A New Adventure

Laney and I have had a challenging year. It has been a year ago that we returned home from our adventure in Texas. It has been an readjustment to a new way of life. The fact that I have not had a job in two years has been in itself a readjustment. I have had to rebuild my life and find ways to redirect some of my energy and try to find my funny self again. I usually can always find a laugh in the despair of life even when its difficult. Most recently my laughter came after I had to run through the airport in flip flops to catch my lay over flight to home. It was not really a lay over. I called it a run until you drop over. The connecting flight was booked to board ten minutes after landing. It may have worked if the first flight was not a half hour late. Anyways as luck has it, the second flight was a little late. I came to realize how out of shape I am in as I collapsed at the terminal. Literally I thought I was going to be terminal. I am sure I must have looked like a duck trying to run in flip flops. As I looked over a couple times I laughed as I caught sight of my husband who was also in flip flops. The ducks have landed. I declared out loud as we collapsed that we needed to get in shape. And that is how, we have found our new adventure.

Usually by this time of the summer we are in great shape from bike riding, walking and tennis. This year our unusually hot and steamy summer has left us plump and bored. Laney has also gained two pounds since her last vet visit. So, my husband by chance found us a half marathon to do. And, as the heat has started to settle down we are now in training. Laney will also be in training too. Together we are going to get in shape, build some endurance, and hopefully loose some fat. We will be laughing because we are happy and raising money for lymphoma research. Follows us as we prepare to loose the flip flops.

Jigsaw Puzzles

I love working puzzles whether they are jigsaw, cross words, or anything that needs to be solved. I always had a love of math and chemistry in school because of the satisfaction of solving the equations. I have recently been introduced by a friend to an on-line website to work jigsaw puzzles. I love the fact that I can work the puzzles without worrying where I'll lay all the pieces. Ah, there is a convenience of the Internet. When the pieces of the puzzle fit together you here this clicking noise to let you know they are a perfect fit. I think our lives are like a jigsaw puzzle. There are many pieces that click perfectly and then there are those that never seem to fit. We may try to change the pieces without success and never get them to fit. Perhaps they belong to a different puzzle. At the end of our life hopefully we have tried all the pieces and we have solved the puzzle. Laney has been a perfect fit in my puzzle. She recently greeted me as I arrived home from a trip. She always makes me feel welcomed and at peace. I must be a perfect fit in her puzzle as she is in mine. I hope that everyone has pieces that fit their life, especially a four legged friend.
