The Freezing Lamb

Today is the last day of March and our warm weather has departed. Hopefully this is temporary as Laney and I have been very cold today. The saying that March is going out like a gentle lamb is true but it is going out with a burr!!! Our warm south breeze departed somewhere during the night and the temperature dropped 40 degrees. I guess the warm air decided to party somewhere else today and is feeling too hung over to travel. The expected return to warm weather is tomorrow with sunny skies or will it just be an April fool. Laney and I are hoping to start April off with a beautiful day. We are hoping to play and fool some people, instead of Mother Nature fooling us. Hope wherever you are that you can enjoy April fool's day and can be blessed with some beautiful spring weather also. A good lesson from our four legged friends is no matter what the weather they are still happy to be with us or are they just fooling us.

Dreaming

Sometimes when Laney is sleeping she will start barking and making a crying sound. I often wonder if she is dreaming. Perhaps she thinks she is playing with other dogs or chasing away those who she thinks will potentially harm us. Maybe she is thinking of taking a walk on a beautiful sunny day. Lately I have thought that I was dreaming. The weather here has gone from Spring to Summer in one day. This time of the year is usually rainy and sometimes snowy, but it is already been in the 80's with lots of sun. Everything is in full bloom. I wonder some days if I am really dreaming and of course I hope I don't awake to find a foot of snow on the ground.This year has definitely started out to be quite different in many ways not just the weather. It was like a bad dream at first but now the clouds have lifted and the beautiful weather has brought new energy and life to me. Laney's enthusiasm to play outside has brought lots of laughter. Possibly today is just a dream but a wonderful dream. Hope it will last a long time. Look to the sky and close your eyes and listen to the sounds that surround you and maybe your dreams will come true.
